Mary Alice Masengal, 82, of Cedar Creek, passed away on October 26th at home.

Mary was born in Jasper, Texas, to Wiley and Edna Adams on January 11, 1938. Jasper is where she grew up and married her husband, Bobby Masengal, on November 27, 1957. Bobby's career in the military allowed the couple and their two daughters a way to travel the world, even settling in places like Hawaii and Spain. Travel allowed Mary to explore multiple career paths including customer service, librarianship, and cosmetology. Even after her retirement, Mary sought new challenges such as dealing Black Jack at a Louisiana casino and cashiering for Beall’s department store.

When she wasn’t working, Mary enjoyed gambling trips with her sisters, shopping, arts & crafts, and spending time with her family.

Mary Alice was a longtime member of Bridge City, Texas' Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Masengal, and her brother, Raymond Adams.

She was survived by her sisters, Mildred and Evelyn, two daughters, four granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service held October 29th at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
