Invalid Widow of Confederate Veteran Leaves Eight Children
Mrs. Laura Wyatt, widow of a confederate veteran who died about four years ago, died Tuesday morning at the home of her son, O. P. Wyatt, corner of Sixth and Pecan streets. Her age was 73 years, 11 months and 12 days.
As a result of a meningitis attack when 22 years old, Mrs. Wyatt had been in ill health most of her liftime and for about fifteen years had been virtually an invalid. She came here three years ago.
Surviving are five sons: M. B. Wyatt of Napoel, Cal.; M. H. Wyatt of Wichita Falls, R. E. Wyatt of Hawley, Texas, J. M. Wyatt of Colorado, Texas, and O. P. Wyatt of this city; and three daughters; a Mrs. Hawthorne of Tahoka, Miss Ethel wyatt of San Angelo and a daughter residing in Los Angeles. Mrs. Wyatt was a devout Christian and a member of the International Bible Students' Association.
Whether or not burial will be made here or the body will be sent to Hawley, Texas, for burial was not known Tuesday afternoon, pending arrival of some of the sons and daughters, it was announced by the Charles A. Robison Undertaking Company.
