In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on January 14, 2006, by his wife of 37 years Betty Jane Steen, whom he married May 25,1969.
Don was a good son, husband, father, and friend. He will be missed by many.
The Long Road Home
It's been three long years since he's seen or touched some pristine snow.
In my mind, you wouldn't think someone would yearn for the cold, though.
It's paradoxical to believe you can feel warmth in the cold.
The winter winds can chill your soul, especially when you're old.
But the warmth from love and friendship radiates to a hot glow.
That's the essence of why he wants to return to Ohio.
It's been a crazy, wild ride on that long, long road, don't you know.
I hope Heaven looks and feels a lot like pristine Ohio.
