She was born in Davie County on October 13, 1923, to John “Jack" Goolsby and Lula Mason Goolsby. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, R.J. Hudson; a brother, John Goolsby, Jr. and three sisters: Lettie G. Brown, Nancy G. Hairston and Annie G. Burke.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Alice Benson of South Carolina; a devoted niece and caregiver, Judy Richards and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
