Edmund (Ned) Taylor Woolfolk, III, died Monday, July 27, 2015, following a long and brave battle against Alzheimer's Disease. Ned was born on June 26, 1945, in Mobile, Alabama, to Fran and Pete Woolfolk. Ned is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carol Williams Woolfolk; their daughters, Courtney (Scott) Myers, and Susan Woolfolk; his brother Doug and wife Mary Toups Woolfolk; his grandchildren Madison Myers and Luke Myers; and many, many lifelong friends in Florida and Louisiana. Ned was a die-hard Gator fan after attending the University of Florida and playing baseball for the Gators during his undergraduate years. He then served in the Naval Reserve in Japan before returning to UF's College of Law and graduating in 1972. He practiced law in the Orlando area for 37 years, helping many and giving advice to anyone in need. A natural athlete, Ned never played a sport he didn't want to win. His competitive nature shone brightest on the racquetball courts of The University Club, bass fishing on Central Florida lakes, free throw contests on driveway basketball courts and spearfishing in the Abacos.

Throughout his life Ned enjoyed travel with friends and family, always able to find the nearest ice cream stand in any country and making friends with locals wherever he was. Ned and his identical twin, Doug, shared a passion for fishing and adventure, and loved to tell their stories together, filling time and place with laughter.

Family and friends will celebrate Ned's life at a memorial service in the fall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ned's memory to the Alzheimer's Association - Central and North Florida Chapter, 378 Center Pointe Circle, Ste. 1280, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
