Angier- Patsy Stephenson Altman, 79, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 22nd after a brief illness. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Onslow and Virginia Inez Collins Stephenson.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Neill’s Creek Baptist Church, 4200 Neill’s Creek Rd. Angier, NC 27501. The burial will follow at Angier Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Patsy will lie in state on Saturday, October 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier for anyone that would like to pay their respects and sign the register.

Patsy grew up on a farm in Wake County with her sisters and brother. She graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School in 1959. She later attended Hardbarger Business College while employed at First Citizens Bank in Raleigh, N.C.

She married the love of her life, Teddy T. Altman, on April 1, 1961. They made a loving home in Angier, N.C. with their three daughters, Tedi, Ginger, and Marisa. She cherished Ted and her girls, in-laws, and her seven grandchildren. She loved spending time with them, especially during holidays and family trips.

Patsy worked for several companies over the years and made many friends. She will especially be remembered for her 15 years in the Continuing Education Department at Wake Technical Community College. Patsy loved her job at Wake Tech, considered her co-workers friends, and enjoyed taking continuing education classes in the areas of her interest prior to retiring in 2003.

Patsy will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend. She loved traveling, reading, and bird watching. She spent hours sewing, painting, and crafting.
Patsy was a strong Christian and was a lifelong member of Neill’s Creek Baptist Church. She loved her friends from Sunday School and church. Patsy loved the Lord and knew she would spend eternity in heaven.

Patsy is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Ted T. Altman; daughters, Tedi Fagan of Raleigh, Ginger Bethune and husband, Les, of Atlanta, GA; Marisa Owens and husband, Scott, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Connor Fagan and wife, Alexa, Mary Katherine Fagan, Mel Bethune, Grey Bethune, Reed Bethune, Clair Owens and Sydney Owens.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Adams and Jean Wilkerson and her brother, Donnie Stephenson.
