Bobby Wayne Eidson, age 79, died Monday, August 24, 2015 at Druid City Hospital Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Gunter & Peel Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Hall officiating, assisted by Rev. Bud Glass. Burial will immediately follow the service in Haughton Memorial Park, Amory, MS. The son of the late Carl and Laverne Wallace Eidson, Mr. Eidson was born March 19, 1936, in Albertville, AL and grew up in Gadsden, AL. He served several years in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Eidson Oil and Chemical Company. He was also the owner of the Office Sports Bar. An avid golfer, he played until his health declined. He was a charter member of Old Waverly Golf Club and a former member of Columbus Country Club and Green Oaks. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, telling jokes and making people laugh. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Claude and Billy Eidson. Mr. Eidson is survived by his wife Carol Hollis Eidson of Columbus, his daughter and son-in-law Holly Jo and Chad English and granddaughter Joanna Hollis English, all of Aberdeen, MS, one brother Ricky Eidson of SC and a sister-in-law Anne Eidson of Birmingham, AL, and two nieces and one nephew. He also leaves behind his beloved pet Tiger Joe Eidson, a registered border collie. Pallbearers will be Dick Dean, Billy Thrasher, Jimmy Collins, Robert Righter, Tookey Robertson and Elmer Thomas.
