Ettie Jane Combs, daughter of R.M. and May Pierce, was born December 3, 1894, and departed this life December 17, 1973, at the age of 79 years and 14 days. She was united in marriage to Robert H. Combs September 25, 1910. To this union were born seven children: Thurman Combs, Bradleyville; Lela Todd, Bradleyville; Vina Johnson, Powersite; Fern Hodges, Bradleyville; Eudell Combs, Powersite; Bobby Combs, Bradleyville; and Betty Maggard, Bradleyville. She was preceded in death by her husband June 10, 1950. She leaves to mourn her passing her seven children, 18 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ozie Blunk, and Argie Manley both of Forsyth and one brother, Albert Pierce of Taneyville, and a host of other relatives and friends. She gave her heart to the Lord early in life at New Mansion Church of which she remained a faithful member until death. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and grandmother. She was loyal to her church and attended regularly in spite of failing health. Her life has been a strength and a blessing to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed by loved ones and friends but we know our loss is Heaven's gain.
