Jany Izora Williams was born in August 1882 in Pike County Arkansas, the third of eight children born to Green Berry Williams, Jr. and Mary Ellen Corley. Jany's parents were farmers their entire life. The family is listed living in Pike County, Arkansas in the 1880 census, but is listed living in Limestone County Texas (near Corsicana) in the 1900 census. The family may have moved to Texas because they had the opportunity to buy farmland.

Jany Williams met Alexander Christian Day in Texas and were married on 26 January 1905 in Coolidge, Limestone County, Texas. Soon after they were married, they had daughter Era Inez Day in 1906 and son, Curtis Day in 1907. Christian Day was a farmer his entire life in Texas.

Tragedy would soon strike this young family. In early 1909, at the young age of 27, Jany Williams Day died (cause unknown), leaving Christian a widower with two young children, Era age 2 and Curtis age 1. Jany Williams Day is buried in the Pyron Cememtery in Hermleigh, Scurry County, Texas, near where she had grown up and several of relatives still lived.
