Darla Abrahamson, 65, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Darla Jean Abrahamson was born February 27, 1955, the daughter of Willie E. and Marjorie (Deegan) Abrahamson, in Devils Lake, ND. She was raised and educated in Minot, ND, graduating from Minot High School in 1973. She furthered her education and attended Minot State University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.

After her graduation, Darla taught at Little Flower School and then for the Minot Public Schools until her retirement.

Darla was very active in sports and an avid sports fan. She played on numerous teams but her true love was for softball. She played for the Minot Standard Sparks and Ahmann Construction teams. She enjoyed watching football and hockey with her family. At every holiday gathering there was always a game on the television. She had two favorite teams and regardless of how they were doing she would watch the UND Sioux and Detroit Red Wings hockey teams.

Darla always had a very special bond with her nieces and nephews. She attended anything they were playing no matter what sport they were in. She often would show up hours before the game to make sure she got the perfect seat. She was always their biggest fan and loved cheering them on.

Her loving family includes: brother, Rick Deegan, Paynesville, MN; sisters, Diane Abrahamson, Minot, Sandra (Timothy) Brooks, Cedar, MN; sister-in-law, Pam Abrahamson, Minot; brother-in-law Robert Fenner, Ingram, TX; nieces and nephews, Eric (Calla) Abrahamson, David (Stephanie) Abrahamson, Jeff Abrahamson, Dylan Abrahamson, Weston Abrahamson, Kerry (Brenda) Deegan, Patrick (Melanie) Deegan, and Angie (Mark) Janorschke, Robbie and Kelly (Missy) Fenner, Lisa Wicklund, Laurie Brooks; and many great nieces and nephews.
