Roy Albert Anderson, 98, passed away on August 19, 2019 in Castle Rock, Colorado. He was born October 30, 1920, in Newell, South Dakota, to Carl and Carrie (Hogstrom) Anderson. He married Darlene Viken in 1949, and divorced after 18 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.

He was inducted into the Navy in 1945 and served until World War II ended in 1946. He owned and operated laundromats in Newell and Whitewood, South Dakota, during the late 1950's and 1960's plus provided radio and TV repair in the Newell area. He became a machinist in the late 1960's and worked in Yankton and Canton, South Dakota for several years. In 1973, he moved to El Paso, Texas, and worked as a machinist in Juarez, Mexico, until he retired in 1987. Due to declining health, he moved to Castle Rock, Colorado, in 2011. He enjoyed walking, exercising, reading, and bowling.
Respecting his beliefs and wishes, there will be no formal service.
