Stephen was one of at least eleven children of Peter King Reaksecker and his wife, Christiana Baker Reaksecker. He spent most of his early years in Grant, Harrison, MO, and as a young man was a farmer. The 1910 census shows him living with his new wife, Katharyn "Katie" L. Snell, in his mother-in-law's home. Katie died in 1916, and on 30 Dec. 1917 in Gentry, MO, he married Maude E. Black Bryan. His draft registration on 12 Sep. 1918 showed him as short with medium build, gray eyes, and dark hair, working as a pharmacist in Ridgeway, Harrison, MO. He died before the year was out. Flu?
