Patton-Ernest A Mize, 75 years old, of Patton Route 1, died Tuesday in Perry County Memorial Hospital of Perryville.
Mr. Mize was born Dec 16, 1905 at Morley, a son of James R and Lola Lawrence Mize. He married Lena Elizabeth Murphy Dec 20, 1926, in Benton. She survives.
Mr. Mize was a farmer.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, Billy Eugene Mize, Cape Girardeau, Charles Allen Mize and Tommy Dale Mize, both of Athens, GA.; daughters, Mrs. Joan Vaughn, Creve Coeur, and Mrs. Lois Rose, Cape Girardeau; sisters, Mrs.Inez Faith, Poplar Bluff, and Miss Doris Mize, Sikeston; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau from 4 pm to 9 pm today.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 pm at the funeral home, with the Rev Roger Henson and the Rev Donald Faith officiating. Burial will be in the Old Morley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Vaughn, James Faith, Fred Wyman, Charles Mize, Dennis Mize, and Robert Hayes.
As of 2016 Charles Allen Mize (born in 1935) is only surviving son currently living in Florida.
