Mrs. Fannie Sewell, 79, of 1500 35th St., Rock Island, died at 5:10 yesterday afternoon after a long illness.
Services will be at 3 Friday afternoon in Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island, with the Rev. Ronald Scriven, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 tomorrow afternoon and until 11 Friday morning at the Esterdahl Chapel at which time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of service.
Mrs. Sewell, the former Fannie Lou Peake, daughter of Thomas Beverly and Lucinda Belle Peake, was born Sept. 29, 1881, in Yates Center, Kan. She was married to George C. Sewell on March 21, 1900, in Petersburg, and the couple moved to Moline during that year. Mr. Sewell died April 8, 1943.
Mrs. Sewell was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church and the Edgewood WCTU of Rock Island.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Vern Bolander and Mrs. Kline Wartman, both of Rock Island, and Mrs. William Nichols, Victorville, Calif.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Stuckey, Brookville, Kan., and Mrs. Rosa Herbert, Houston, Tex.; and three brothers, Samuel, Aurora, Mo.; Fletcher, Humble, Tex.; and Leonard O., Jacksonville, Fla.
Two brothers and a grandson preceded her in death, in addition to her husband.
