Services for Gertrude Turner, 92, of Lubbock, will be held Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Grace Assembly of God Church. Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:30-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Turner passed away on Tuesday Sept. 18, 2007.

Gertrude was born on Aug. 22, 1915, in Myra, Texas to the late Samuel David and Alice (Jenkins) Colwell. She married Rev. Sylvester Turner on July 8, 1947 in Gainesville. He preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1974. She has been a member of Grace Assembly of God since 1974. She was also a member of The Lubbock Doll Club and The South Plains Herb Society.

Mrs. Turner is survived by one son, David Turner and wife Deborah; one sister Beulah Brumley; three grandchildren David Turner II, Hallie Taylor and Priscilla Turner; three great grandchildren, Kayla, Kaeden and Faith.

Arrangements are under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.
