Mary Ella Naizer Prikryl of Ft. Worth went to join her husband and great grandson in glory on Monday, April 8, 2002 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. She lived most of her 86 years in Granger, Texas. The last 2 years were with her daughter and son-in-law in Ft. Worth. Rosary is planned for 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, at Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with the Rev. Isidore Ndagizimana officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Granger.

She was born to John R. and Marcella (Bartosh) Naizer on March 17, 1916 on the family farm. In her teenage years, she sang with the church choir and later became a member of the Altar Society. On November 15, 1937 she married Andrew A. Prikryl at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church. During the school years of her children, she was a member of the SS Cyril and Methodius Mother's Club. She was a life long member of St. Helen's KJZT Society No. 18 and was later a member of the KJT Society No. 28. After she and Andrew retired from farming, she worked at the Nasinec Newspaper, the CA-CE-LEN Clothing Factory, and the Bluebonnet Nursing Center. Throughout her life she was a good and faithful servant of the Lord. By nature she was gracious, patient, and soft-spoken. She was a wonderful helpmate to her husband and an excellent role model for her children and grandchildren. They were approaching their 60-year wedding anniversary when Andrew passed away.

Her creativity was expressed in the beautiful clothing she made as a seamstress. Her passion for history expressed itself in her life-long interest in her family's genealogy. She visited many a church and country cemetery as well as dusty basements in pursuit of unsolved family lineage. She inherited her love of reading from her mother and shared her affection for the beauty of creation with her friends and family.

Survivors include a son, Andrew G. Prikryl and wife, Oki, of Fort Washington, Maryland; a daughter Otilie Kitowski and husband, John, of Ft. Worth; three granddaughters, Mary Prikryl Rychetsky and husband, Richard, of College Station; Nan Prikryl of College Station; and Sarah Prikryl of Houston; two grandsons, Major Robert Kitowski and wife, Janet, of Niceville, Florida, and Charles Kitowski and wife, Rebecca, of Colleyville; four great grandchildren, Zachary, Isabelle, Camden, and Sarah Ruth Kitowski; two sisters, Edith Hajda and Otilie Maresh; three brothers, Benny, Daniel, and Laddie Naizer; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by husband, Andrew, and great grandson, Logan Andrew Kitowski; her parents; brothers, Albert, Henry, and Johnnie Naizer; and sister, Annie Rosipal.

Memorials may be made to SS Cyril and Methodius Church or School; the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, Inc., P.O. Box 6, La Grange, TX 78945-0006; or the educational institution of your choice.
