Mrs. Frances Gayle Maddex McClanahan Mullikin, age 85, of Bedford, Kentucky formerly of Madison entered this life on August 2, 1935 in Austin, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Frank William and Gertrude May Cash Maddex. She was a North Madison High School graduate and was raised at Volga where her parents owned and operated Maddex General Store. Frances was raised in the Hopewell Baptist Church at Volga. She went to Brigham Young University in Utah and also attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana to become a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse and had resided in Ormond Beach, Florida, Crawfordsville, Indiana and Paris Crossing, Indiana.Frances was married to Jack Meador and Sammy Herring. Her 3rd marriage to John Jacob McClanahan on December 30, 1987 and he passed away on March 21, 2007. Frances was married on October 25, 2010 to Donald Gene Mullikin at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Volga, Indiana. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed coloring and painting, especially painting barns. Frances died on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at 4:45 a.m. at the Hanover Health & Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Frances will be missed by her loving husband of ten years, Donald Gene Mullikin of Bedford, Kentucky; her step daughter, Jeanne Mullikin Bedford, Kentucky; her step grandchildren, Hailey, Cassie, Jamie; her 2-step great grandchildren; Genesis and Brantlee; her brothers in law, Kenny Mullikin and his wife, Pauline of Clarksville, Indiana and Bill and his wife Mary of Madison, Indiana; several cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank William Maddex, died July 19, 1986, her mother, Gertrude May Cash Maddex, died November 9, 1995, and her husband, John Jacob McClanahan, died March 21, 2007.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 10:30 a.m., by Bishop Richard Johnson at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery,1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
