Gilliam H. Atherton, 82, Palmyra, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Rolling Hills Health Care Center in New Albany.
A native of Livermore, Ky., born Sept. 6, 1918, he was the son of the late Kelly and Abbie Taylor Atherton.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired banker for Federal Reserve Bank in Louisville.
Survivors include his wife, the former Mary A. Reynolds; three sons, Stephen Atherton of Floyds Knobs, and Dave and Martin Atherton, both of Palmyra; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, after 8 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.
