Deputy sherrif in Fauquier County. A lawyer at Wheeling, a legislator at Richmond. He was member of the Virginia Secession Convention. He was Clerk of the Virginia Auditing Board. We was a Quatermaster in the state service. After the War he was law partner to Henry Wise.
