The Brigade was the base unit for the 88th Division, which processed new draftees and provided basic training. He enlisted in Dallas 7/30/1918, received an honorable discharge 02/04/1919. In the 1920 census he is shown to have lived at 504 S. Main Street in Temple and married to Aurora Anderson. Worked as a Cotton sampler, grader, and buyer in Temple and later Corpus Christi.
Died of pneumonia at Waco Veterans Hospital.
