Baze, Lineas L. "Looie" Age 61, of Jackson, passed away peacefully with his family at his side under the care of the staffs at Heartland Hospice and Allegra Nursing and Rehab. Looie is survived by his sister, Lorretta Herron of Jackson; brother, Marven (Earleen) Baze of Leslie; nephews and nieces, Javen (Carrie) and Alex VanFleet, Marven, Sherry, Eric and Kathryn Baze; and dear friend, Denise Gioia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Baze and Eileen Stevens. Looie was a 1976 graduate of Napoleon High School; then went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree at Western Michigan University and Law Degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He returned to Jackson and went into practice with Richard "Dick" Hitt before venturing out with his own practice. He was an avid chess player, participating in tournaments across the country. Looie loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was an animal lover and caregiver and would like any contributions in his memory given to the Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Dr., Jackson, MI 49201. Services to honor Looie's life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11:00 am, cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
