She was the daughter of John B & Nancy Miller Groendyke. She married George T. Johnson on May 4, 1893 in Montgomery County, Indiana.

She married William T Butcher on January 29, 1902 in Montgomery County, Indiana. They had one child, Uz Butcher.

She married Thomas R Cassidy on April 10, 1905 in Montgomery County, Indiana.

"Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Cassidy, 71, died last Friday night at the Small Nursing Home in Waynetown where she had been a patient for about a week. Mrs. Cassidy had been in failing health for 9 years and in critical condition for the past three months. She was a resident of Covington for 35 years.

Mrs. Cassidy was born in Cherry Grove, Ind., Aug. 8, 1881, daughter of John W. and Margaret Miller Groendyke. She was the youngest of six children.

She was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mae Edwards of Covington and Mrs. Curtis F. Redinbo, of Lafayette; a son, Uz Butcher of Crawfordsville.

Funeral services were Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Maurice Williams officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery." - Unknown Newspaper (Obituary provided by Russ Nixon)
