Dwayne was united in marriage to Becky Skattum on September 16, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellsworth. After their marriage they moved to Kanaranzi where Dwayne worked with his father in the family trucking business. At the age of twenty three he took over the family trucking business when his father passed away. They moved to Magnolia in 1979, he continued to truck as well as own and operate the Mobil gas station in Luverne; he was also part owner of the truck wash in Luverne. They moved to Luverne in 1982 and Becky got her CDL license; they started driving truck together, making four trips a month to California for many years. They trucked together until Dwayne had health problems in 2014. He entered home hospice care on April 17, 2015.
He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. He enjoyed driving truck and spending time with his family. They took every one of their grandchildren with them on separate trucking trips. He also enjoyed collecting guns, animals of all kinds, especially dogs, horses, watching NASCAR racing, bowling and snowmobiling.
Dwayne is survived by his wife Becky, Luverne; four children, Amy (Barry) Cowell, Luverne; Todd (Mary) Christensen, Luverne; Tim (Pam) Christensen, Luverne; Sue (Chad) VerSteeg, Luverne; fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; sister, Nyla (Don) Bullerman, Adrian.

Visitation will be from 1-3pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Funeral Mass will be 10;30 Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne, officiated by Fr. Thomas Jennings. A private family burial of cremains will be at a later date.
