A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Frank and Hattie Mullins Evans. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Carter Evans of Fayetteville; two daughter, Kay Tallent of Boonshill and Brenda Lewter of Fayetteville; two sons, Mike Evans of Petersburg and Rick Evans of Fayetteville; a sister, Margarette Shelton of Taft; four brothers, Aaron Evans of Skinem, Burrell Evans of Peoria, Ill., Kenneth Evans of Memphis, and Robert Evans of Fayetteville; and nine grandchildren.
