GASTONIA — Charles Lee Cabe, 87, 1617 E. Cole St., died Aug. 22, 2004, at his home.
He was a native of Haywood County, son of the late Joseph T. and Hattie Hyatt Cabe.
FUNERAL: 8 tonight, Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel
INTERMENT: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Gaston Memorial Park
VISITATION: 6-8 tonight, funeral home
He was a World War II Army veteran, retired from Rex No. 21 with Threads Inc. with over 50 years of employment.
SURVIVORS: Daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Thomas McGee of Gastonia, Janice and John Lay of Gastonia; brother, Phil Cabe of Kings Mountain; sisters, Martha Webb of Gastonia, Juanita Huffstetler of Abel, Ga.; grandchildren and spouses, Barry and Rebecca Whisnant of Winston-Salem, Ann Whisnant-Auten and James Auten of Gastonia, Brian and Sharon Lay of Grover and Alice McGee and Daryl Banks of Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Justin Whisnant-Auten, Morgan Bowen, Austin Lay and Kevin Lafferty.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: His wife of 60 years, Gladys Jenkins Cabe; brothers, Hugh, Wayne, Garland and H.W."Buck" Cabe, sisters, Dovie Ford, Marzell Spencer and Sally Wilson.
