ELIZABETH REYNOLDS HODGDON BURLINGTON — Elizabeth (Bette) Reynolds Hodgdon, 74, of Burlington and formerly of Bomoseen, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in Fletcher Allen Health Care. She was born in Fair Haven on July 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Frederic and Golda (Gifford) Reynolds. Bette had been employed with Tambrand in Rutland for 34 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of the Fair Haven Congregational Church. In her retirement, Bette enjoyed rides around Vermont and spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She was very proud of her heritage and her family's affiliation with the D.A.R. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Charles and his wife, Barbara, and two grandchildren, David John Hodgdon and Christine Emily Hodgdon, of Colchester; her brother, James Reynolds of Fair Haven; six sisters, Lenore Brown and her husband, Dennis, of Poultney, Cora Bresnahan and her husband, George, of West Springfield, N.H., Joan Crucitti of Essex, Jane Bellefeuille and her husband, Claude, of Conyers, Ga., Ruth Ann Keech of Buckhead, Ga., and Chris Parks and her husband, Steve, of Harrison, Ohio. She also leaves many nieces and nephews, including Jefrrey and Barbara's nieces and nephews, of whom she was very fond, Jennifer Gagnon, Elizabeth Whitby, Michael Devine and Matthew Whitby. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1980; three brothers, Richard, Robert, and LeGrande Reynolds; and her stepmother, Martha Reynolds. Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road. Burial will take place in the spring. For those who wish, donations in her memory may be made to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf, 228 N. Winooski Ave., Burlington, Vt. 05401.
