Lessie Dean Dale, a homemaker, a devoted mother and grandmother, died Sept. 30, 2005, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, MO, at the age of 91. She was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Bradley, MO, the daughter of Raymond and Oma (Dale) Christian.
She was a member of the Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Alton, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leah Cochran and four brothers, Lou Earl, Noble, Herman and Lonnie Christian.
She is survived by four children, Jean Lance and husband, Charles of St. Louis, MO; Mary Nickless and husband, DeWayne of Mountain Grove, MO; Ava Johnson and husband, Thaine of Alton, MO; and Bill Dale and wife Ann of Alton, MO; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deana Young and Melva Keating both of Kennett; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.
The funeral service was Oct. 3 at Victory Freewill Baptist Church in Alton, MO, with Rev. Jason Roberts officiating. Burial followed at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Alton with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, MO.
Pallbearers were Steve Lance, Kenny Nickless, Scott Nickless, Kirby Johnson, Kevin Johnson and and Dean Dale.
