Lee was born June 23, 1925 in Hill County to Curt and Alma (Bonner) Woodall. She lived most all her life in the Hubbard area and was a homemaker for many years, raising three children but also worked at Kreditor’s Manufacturing. After the death of her husband, J.W. Battles, in 1979, Lee attended nursing school at Navarro College in Corsicana where she earned her LVN license and began a second career in the nursing field. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hubbard and a member of Order of Eastern Star # 1046.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Battles; her daughter, Teresa Ann Hajek and six siblings, Caralou Woodall Bankston, Ira Woodall, Dorothy Woodall Gordon, Arthur Capper Woodall, Sam Woodall and Kenneth Woodall.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Battles and wife, Marie of Oak Valley and Rodney Battles and wife, Katherine of Hubbard; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Larry Battles, Jr., Russell Battles, Brian Battles, John Battles, Darren Battles and Jeffrey Rounsavall.
