Marie Theresa Stiba Bartosh, 89, of Taylor passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Granger Villa Nursing Home.

The Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 25, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor with Rev. Msgr. Lonnie Urban and Rev. Kirby Garner officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Marie was born on December 17, 1915 to John Henry and Francis Kovar Stiba in the farming community of Rice's Crossing, Texas. On October 1, 1940 she married Roman Jack Bartosh who died in 1982.

Marie was a homemaker; an avid gardener, especially cultivating her irises, and a partner with her family in experiencing the wonderful joys of life.

Becoming a Catholic at the age of 9, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Taylor for the next 80 years. Recognized by Pope John Paul II, Marie was a long time member of the Equestrian Order of Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem; KJZT and St. Ann's Altar Society of Taylor.

Marie is survived by her son Joseph Bartosh of Austin; special family friend Eduardo Benavides; sister Rose Dentler; grandson Joshua Beard; granddaughter Ebony and husband Jason Stewart; great-grandchildren Rachelle, Sidney and Lane Stewart along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was predeceased by her daughter Louise Beard; brothers, John, Joe, Frank, Sam, George, Tom and Van Stiba; brother Frank Vaclavik and sister Annie Stiba Krueger.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Granger Villa Nursing Home, Vista Care Hospice, Georgetown Hospital and the South Unit of Johns Community Hospital for the wonderful and compassionate care of Marie during the last years of her life.
