She was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. In 1923, she married the late John Demby. To this union, a son and daughter were born. The family's membership was placed with the New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Grapeland, Texas.
Upon moving to Houston, she united with New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She was called home June 10, 1985.
