Christine Louise Roethemeyer was born on 14 June 1843 in Westfalen, Prussia to Johann Dieterich Wilhelm Roethemeyer and Christine Caroline Maria Elisabeth Meier. She immigrated with her parents to the United States on 8 November 1854, landing in New Orleans, where they made their way up the Mississippi River to Franklin County, Missouri. She was married on 17 June 1863 to Friedrich Wilhelm Damme in Franklin County, Missouri. To this union were born three children, Louisa Charlotte Caroline, George, and Karl August. On 17 August 1869, Christine Damme died and was buried in the Schacht Cemetery in Osage precinct.
