Evelyn M. (Habegger) Hammond, 57, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on December 5, 1962, in Ontario, California to the late Eldon L. Habegger Sr. and the late Carolyn A. (Newman) Habegger.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Matthew Hammond on June 8, 2002.
She was a 1981 graduate of Crestview High School in Convoy, Ohio.
She was previously employed at the family owned business Habegger Floor Covering, and then Wal-Mart in Decatur.
Evelyn loved her grandkids, spending time with them, and babysitting. She enjoyed random traveling with her family, and geocaching.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Matthew Hammond of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Melissa (Cyle) Alverson of Decatur, Indiana; son, Michael Metz of Decatur, Indiana; step-daughter, Christie (Kiel) Dager of Fort Wayne, Indiana; step-son, Michael Hammond of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister, Jolene (Bryan) Spray of Van Wert, Ohio; brother, Lynn (Patti) Habegger of Bluffton, Indiana; sister, Jayne Habegger of San Jacinto, California; sister, Rhonda Habegger of Decatur, Indiana; and six grandchildren, Cayden, Haydon, Chloe, Maddix, Carter and McKinley.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home- Decatur with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.
Family and friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 4, 2020, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur.
