Edna Mae Corbo was the daughter of Samuel and Edna Mae (nee Perry) Reinert. Her siblings were: (Charles, Arthur & Herbert died in infancy), Florence, Howard, Mary & Charlotte. Edna grew up in Hackensack, NJ. She and Freddy Corbo knew each other since they were teens and married on the New Year's Eve of 1942. Edna always referred to Freddy as her knight in shining armor. Edna was such a caring and unselfish person. Her sister Charlotte, had just got married and Edna knew her parents couldn't afford another wedding, so she and Freddy eloped. Edna worked at City Hall at the records dep't. in Hackensack, N.J. for many years. Edna entered a beauty contest in Atlantic City. There was a portrait of Edna in a photographer's studio in Hackensack. It was in the window so everyone in the town could see it. A modeling company saw her and wanted to know if she would be interested in modeling but she chose not to. She and Freddy moved to Pompano, Beach, Florida in the 1970s. Edna and Freddy had a wonderful life going on cruises and ballroom dancing. They went ballroom dancing every weekend with friends. They were married 65 years until Freddy passed at age 92. Edna loved her desserts especially chocolate cake. When Edna was in her 90's she said the thing she missed most, besides Freddy of course, was wearing high heels. She was a true lady and loved to dress up. After Freddy passed, Edna lived with her niece, Judy for a while in NJ. Later she moved to MD to live with her sister, Charlotte. Edna was a very sweet, gentle, kind hearted, good natured, loving person but she was very strong when she needed to be.

Aunt Edna always made you feel important and special and you felt how much you meant to her. She loved her family very much and we all loved her very much right back. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."
