Elmer was a man of faith and was a member of Love of Christ Church where he served as an Elder. He worked for Conrail as a freight conductor for 30 years. Growing up he had worked on the family farm in Reedsville, PA. Elmer enjoyed gardening and traveling, but most importantly he loved spending time with his family.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Veronica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Esther Reed; son, Elmer, Jr.; grandson, Nichols; brother, Henry Reed; and sisters: Emily Luckenbill, Neoma Herring, and Carolyn Yost.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 9:30-11:00 AM in the Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Road, Bear, DE 19701 followed by a service in celebration of Elmer's life at 11 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
