Carrie Frances, born in Wakefield, RI, was the daughter of William G. Rose and Mary T. Dixon of Washington County, Rhode Island. In 1870, Carrie was living with her sister, Mary D. Rose, and brother, Herbert P. Rose, in the household of their oldest brother, George P. Rose and wife Mary. Carrie m. Exeter, RI 27 Nov 1873 Charles Allen EDWARDS, b. New Bedford, Mass. c. 1851, son of Gardner C. Edwards and Anna Newman. In 1875 the couple was living in Providence with an infant and Charles's younger sister, Annie G. Edwards. In 1880 they were still in Providence with three children and Charles's sister. Charles was called a clothing salesman. In the 1885 RI state census, Carrie is listed as the head of a household of four in N. Kingstown, RI, so she had separated from her husband. There is a divorce record for Charles A. Edwards and Carrie F. Edwards in York, Maine, dated May 1887. In 1900 Carrie was living in Daytona, FL, called a widow, in the home of her daughter Nellie Mills. Carrie was the mother of three children, all of whom were living in 1900. In 1910 Carrie was still in the same place in her daughter's household. Carrie's Florida death certificate says she was divorced, and buried in Pinewood Cemetery, which is in Daytona Beach, FL. Children:

* Herbert Alan., b. Lawrence, Mass. 16 Sep 1874, d. Exeter, RI 17 April 1936, m. S. Kingstown, RI 7 Nov 1894 Ruth Carpenter SWEET, b. 20 June 1869, d. 22 Feb 1947, daughter of George Sweet and Hannah Carpenter. They are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery (George Rose Lot), S. Kingstown, RI.

* Harry Pardon, b. c. 1876, m. (1) _____ _____; m. (2) Attleborough, Mass. 28 Oct 1901 Hattie S. (AUSTIN) McRae, who was divorced, b. c. 1880, daughter of John S. Austin and Cynthia H. Kerlew; m. (3) Providence, RI 12 March 1907 Dorcas TILLINGHAST, b. c. 1881, daughter of Stukley and Mary A. Tillinghast.

* Nellie Bishop, b. Providence, RI 31 Jan 1879, m. Ernest John MILLS, b. 1875, d. 1941. They are buried in Pinewood Cemetery as is Nellie's mother.
