Dr. Ned T. Barrett, 75, passed away on May 4, 2011 at Rapides General Hospital.

He joined the USAF and served his country as an Investigator for the Air Police for ten years.

He was educated at Hines Junior College, Mississippi College, McNeese State University, and Bethany Theological Seminary and achieved a Masters plus 30 in Education and a PH.D in Christian Counseling.

He served as the pastor in churches from Mississippi to Louisiana from 1963 to 2011, primarily in the Beauregard Parish area. He accepted his first pastorate at County Line Baptist Church in Winston County, Mississippi. In August of 1971, he began teaching at Fairview High School and became pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church in Beauregard Parish. He pastored in many other pulpits in Louisiana, including New Sunrise Baptist Church in Hineston and Temple Baptist in DeRidder. In addition, he served as a teacher in the classrooms of Allen, Beauregard, and Vernon Parishes.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Connie Barrett; three sons, Michael Wayne Barrett, Jeff Elliott Barrett, and Edwin Scott Barrett; seven grandchildren, Christopher Allen Barrett, Alex Cooley, Alyssa Grace Barrett, Anthony Scott Barrett, Austin Stahl, Brittney Stahl, and Tyler Stahl; four great grandchildren, Aubrey Stewart, Mackenzee Stahl, Ayden Stahl, and Kaliegh Craft; a sister, Florence Ellen Jones; and two brothers, Jackie Charles Barrett and Jerry Lavon Barrett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd Holmes "Ned" and Nina Kate Jones Barrett; and two granddaughters, Patience Briann Barrett and Harlie Michele Barrett (FAG#6836822).
