AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Carolyn R. Burns, 74, of Augusta, GA, entered into rest peacefully on Monday, June 27th, 2016 at her residence with family present. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 2nd at Asbury United Methodist Church at 3:00 pm; Reverends Allan Smith, Randall Cowart, and Pete Strahls will officiate. Preceding the service, from 1:45 - 2:45 in the fellowship hall, will be a time for visitation. Mrs. Burns, a native of Lynn, Massachusetts, has lived in Augusta, GA for over 60 years. She was a retired employee of TTX Company in North Augusta, SC. She was an active member of Asbury UMC.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Burns; sons, Elliott Mumper (Melissa Hedden), Raymond Burns (Mel), and Rodney Burns (Thim); a niece, Dawn Foos (Ryan); a nephew, Duane Anderson; three great nephews; two great nieces; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Myra Remley; sister, Gail Norman, and son James A. Mumper.
