George Madison Gibson, Sr., age 80 of Cox’s Creek, passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 12, 1939 in Monticello. He was a retired employee of Container Corporation of America in Louisville and he was a Methodist by faith. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert H. and Essie Violet Davidson Gibson; two sisters, Maggie Campbell and Bobbie Adillar. Survivors include three children, seven grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren; one brother, his fiancé .Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Cross cemetery. Visitation is 3-7 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Face coverings are required to enter the funeral home. No food or drink may be sent or shared at this time.
