The funeral for Hazel Driggers will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Central Baptist Church, 207 West Union, Magnolia, Arkansas 71753.
Hazel Driggers joined her husband Hugh Edward Driggers, her son Hugh E. Driggers Jr., other loved ones, and her Lord in heaven on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
She was 96, and was born on Wednesday, December 15, 1915, in Chester, Louisiana, to Benjamin Hughes "Jake" Adams and Mary Ann "Ann" Luttrell Adams.
Survivors include her daughters, Donita Ann Driggers Vaden and Teresa Driggers Blackwell; her son, Richard Driggers; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Hazel was a remarkable homemaker, mother, and wife. She modeled Philippians 2:3, “…in humility, count others more important than yourselves.” She influenced many who knew her with her unconditional love and her sincere interest in other people. Two things characterized Mrs. Driggers: Optimism and living by the “Serenity Prayer.” She loved God’s Word and taught a Sunday school class at Central Baptist Church for more than 50 years. A favorite scripture was, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Visitation with the family will be at the Central Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012, with a funeral service to begin at 10:30 a.m.
Following the funeral service, there will be a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Magnolia, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Driggers requested donations to the Lottie Moon Missions, in care of Central Baptist Church.
