Barbara Aitkins a long-life resident of Magnolia, Texas died unexpectedly on September 19,2020 at the age of 71 with family.
She was born April 12, 1949 in Jefferson County, Alabama to Doris and Reuben Gilmore. She was the oldest 4 siblings. On September 16, 1968 she married John Norman Aitkins.

She graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1995 in Houston, Texas. Barbara worked for Southwestern Bell for 34 years. She worked for Walmart for 7 years as a part time associate.

Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Enrique Schmidt. Her grandson Alexander Schmidt. Her brothers, Reuben, Thaddeus, and Basil Gilmore. And close friend Rita Taft.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies were gardening, and cooking. She loved giving advice whether you wanted it or not, but it was always with love and good intentions. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Funeral viewing will be scheduled 4:00pm-8:00pm Klein funeral Home on Monday September 28,2020. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 on Tuesday 29,2020 at Houston National Cemetery.
