Mrs. Irene Leatherwood, 53, of 404 Hillside Ave. died at 2:50 a.m., Monday, July 31, 1965, in Pike County Hospital following an illness of nine months. Born Aug. 16, 1911, in Ross County, she was the daughter of Wesley and Edna Claytor Snyder. She was married to Arron Leatherwood in 1950, who died Aug. 16, 1960. Surviving are a son by a previous marriage, Cecil Stauffer of Circleville; two stepsons, Richard Leatherwood of Route 3 and Darwin Leatherwood of Waverly; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Emma Gleason of Piketon, Route 2, Mrs. Louise Erwin of Pontiac, Mich., and Mrs. Irene Anderson of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Clarence Snyder of Route 2 and Richard Snyder of Kenova, W, Va.; and two sisters, Viola and Ruth. She was a charter member of the Waverly Church of Christ in Christian Union where service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Robert Sayre officiating. Burial will be in Omega Cemetery under the direction of the A. H. Boyer Funeral Home.
