Lubbock- Sharon Lee Bruton passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 71 years on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.

Sharon was born on February 23, 1947 to Buckner and Gretchen (Knopp) Whitten in San Antonio, TX and grew up in Nacogdoches.

On June 10, 1971, she married Burris Monroe Bruton in El Paso.

Moving from El Paso to Lubbock in 1984, Sharon worked for Covenant Medical Center and the Posey Gin.

Sharon enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Monroe Bruton; and four siblings.

Sharon is survived by her three daughters, Deanna Bruton, Stephanie Martinez and husband Sam all of Lubbock, and Theresa Barrier and husband Jason of Slaton; seven grandchildren, Branden Bruton, Samuel Martinez, Zachary Martinez, Ciara Northern, Brittany Canfield, Dylan Bruton, and Koby Perez; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
