Mrs. Richard Webb, aged 61 years, died Saturday morning, Dec. 16, at 7 o'clock. Mrs. Webb was a native of Arlington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Shepard and with the exception of a few years they lived in Rutland, the greater part of her life was spent here. She was a woman, who was highly respected by the entire community, she was one of those kind motherly, unselfish persons who was ever thinking of others and their comforts but never of self, during her last illness, though a great sufferer, she was the same patient, thoughtful mother, wife and friend to all she came in contact with and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Richard Webb, two sons, Andrew J. Webb of Gardner and Hugh Webb of this place, two daughters, Mrs. B.W. Marshall, Jr. and Mrs. J.H. Pierce, both of Rutland, one brother, Frank Shepard of Bristol, Conn., and two sisters, Mrs. John Perkins of Elmira, N.Y., and Miss Nell Shepard of Winsted, Conn. The funeral was held at the house Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Mabel T. Wineb, officiating, the interment at Evergreen cemetery.
