Samuel's parents were honored on the Green Harbor Monument as one of the early founders of Marshfield MA in Plymouth Colony.
Sprague's Neck
The two oldest sons of Samuel, Samuel Jr and John, moved to Duxbury, Massachusetts before 1710 and lived on adjoining farms in the area called "Sprague's Neck", which they inherited from their father, some 230 acres. The land, beginning at a point near what is now known as Sprague's Wharf, the boundary ran along the shore to Blue-fish River, then up the river to the neighborhood of John Alden (1622-1701)'s thence by land of Jacob Smith to meet a line which ran westaward by the sites of the village schoolhouse and the Methodist Church to the house of Daniel Glass. The two farms were divided by the road now called Harrison Street.
