In Loving Memory of Mrs. Hazel Rolene Austin

Hazel Rolene Austin, 92, widow of Richard S. Austin died Thursday, September 17, 2020 at home.

Mrs. Austin enjoyed the outdoors and growing things.

Mrs. Austin was born on July 3, 1928 in Leesville. She was the daughter of the late Willie and Elva Lybrand.

She was retired, but she had worked at Capitol City Manufacturing Company and several of her husband's businesses (Palmetto Cab Company and Dick Austin Motors).

She is survived by her older son Allen, his wife Pat of Lexington, daughter Sharon Gassaway, her husband Lacy of West Columbia, her younger son Harvey and his wife Karen of Lexington and her younnger brother Robert Lybrand of Lexington - two granddaughters, Amanda Humbie husband Paul and Lyndsey Gassaway and three great granddaughters, Tara, Faith, Anna Huffman and a great grandson, Dallas Gassaway.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Willie Lybrand, Jr. of Leesville, Willie Teechie Lybrand of Newberry, her sisters Laforde Sightler of Gaston S.C., Velma Newman of Savannah, Ga., Isabelle Riley of Trenton, S.C.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Southland Memorial Gardens officiated By Rev. Dan Williams (senior adult pastor of Lexington Baptist Church)
