On 14 Sept 1835, Mary was appointed guardian for the five youngest children. John and Mary signed a Quit Claim deed on the land of his deceased father 25 Apr 1833, Green Co., PA Deed Bk, 689....John served in the War of 1812 (9 Aug 1813 to 8 Feb 1814) as a a Corp. on the roll of Capt Joseph Ewing's Company."
