James worked at TRW in Danville for 40 years and was a member of the TRW Old Guard. Upon retiring, he spent time fishing with friends in Delaware and with his faithful dog, Tucker, at his side. In his later years, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the Danville Dunkin Donuts coffee shop, solving the world’s problems. He took pride in caring for his home and property, as well as using several vintage Ford tractors on the farm. Most of all, he thrived when spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one childhood sister, Mary Marqueen Moser.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Folk) Moser, to whom he was married for 63 years. They have one daughter: Wendy (Moser) Styer and son-in-law George W. Styer of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Known as “Pap” by his family, James leaves behind six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Michael Styer and his wife, Amanda (Carl) Styer, of Danville, and two sons; Marci (Styer) Drury and her husband, Jason, of Gainesville, Fla., and one son; Emily (Styer) Walker and her husband, Dave, of Danville, and three daughters; Eric Styer and his wife, Amanda (Pullium) Styer, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and two daughters; Karen (Styer) Burns and husband Kevin of Lebanon, Tenn.; and Kyle Styer and his wife, Brandy, of Loudon, Tenn., and their two daughters and two sons.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Hillside Cemetery in Catawissa, followed by a celebration of life at his home in Cooper Township. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Both events are outdoors with plenty of room. All friends are welcome.
