Helen E. (Nick) Foster, Andalikiewicz

Born June 26, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas, Helen passed away Sept 11, 2020. Born to German immigrants, John and Lena Nick, she was raised with five brothers, John, Joe, William, Frances and Robert and one sister Mary Anderson.

Helen met Stephen Andalikiewicz , her first husband, when she was working at a soda fountain at 7th and Central Avenue, Kansas City, Kansas. The war broke out and he reported to the Navy. Stephen also had a large family, four brothers and two sisters. Stephen past away unexpectedly in 1978 making her a widow at 54 years of age. They were married 35 years and had two daughters; Linda (Jim) Pearson of Shawnee, Kansas and Elaine (Mark) Day of Acme, Pennsylvania.

In 1984, she married Everett Foster who preceded her in death in 2014. Helen lived a full and rich life. She was dedicated to her German heritage, especially her church. She made many friends at Saint Anthony’s. Her service included many clubs, PTO, Daughters of Isabell, Camp Fire Leader and as a union official at Central Bag Co. She loved to make ethnic dishes, such as povitica, strudel, potato dumplings, kielbasa and golumpkies. She always enjoyed a good time and liked eating, drinking beer and dancing the polka.

Helen leaves behind her daughters and son-in-law’s, granddaughter Jeannie Pearson, grandson Christopher Pearson (Connie), and great grandsons Samuel and William Pearson, brother Robert Nick (Dee) and favorite brother-in law, Joe Andalikiewicz.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at Waterford South Assisted Living, Robin O’Brien, Patricia, Latrice, TJ, Dave, Angel, Rose, Gladys, and Patti for their heartfelt service of our precious monarch.

A memorial will be scheduled at a later date in 2021 when we can all gather safely. The family suggest you not mourn her passing, but lift a beer in her honor of a life well lived.
