Virginia Lee "Jennie" Harrison was born in Florida. She moved to Texas in 1850 with her family when she was 9 years old. She married John Henry McClanahan in Victoria, Texas in 1860. Her husband fought in the war between the States and passed away at the age of 27 after he returned. They had 2 children. Jennie married James Borden 2 years later in Victoria, Texas. They made their home in Galveston. James and Jennie had 2 children together but neither survived. Jennie died in Galveston at the age of 40.

It is assumed she was buried in Galveston, Galveston County, Texas and the gravesite was lost during the hurricane of 1900. Probably Evergreen Cemetery where her 2nd husband and 2 infant children are buried.
