Marlys Marie Josephsen was born September 16, 1936 to Marius and Andrea (Larsen) Josephsen. She grew up on the family farm north of Arlington and attended school in Arlington. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Trinity Lutheran Church.

On July 18, 1954 she married the love of her life Donald Larson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington. Marlys and Don were blessed with four children, Stephanie, Kim, Phil and Candice.

She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was strong in her faith for the Lord and a smile that would light up the room. She had polio as a child but that never stopped her from being active. Marlys loved life and was always ready for an adventure. Marlys and Don were married for 65 years, together Marlys and Don operated a dry cleaning and laundry business from 1962 to 1976. For 20 years they wintered in Arizona. She loved to travel, play cards, knitting, crocheting or having coffee with friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Marvin, Lyle and Dean, sister, Maxine, her in-laws Leonard and Agnes Larson, brother-in-law, Bob Converse, sisters-in-law, Myrtle and Fern Josephsen.

Private family services will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington with Pastor Elisa Berndt McMullen officiating, burial will be in the Arlington City Cemetery.
